IAOMT’s integrative health podcast: Word of Mouth
Welcome to IAOMT’s podcast page. Our podcast is “Word of Mouth” and it features interviews with dentists and other health practitioners explaining how oral health is related to overall health, which is also known as the oral-systemic connection.
Why is IAOMT’s integrative health podcast Word of Mouth important?
Many people, including some doctors, are not knowledgeable about how oral health is related to other conditions in the body. Since the mouth is the gateway to the digestive tract, it should not be surprising that what happens in the oral cavity impacts the rest of the body, and vice-versa. Although it might seem obvious that dental conditions and materials interact with the entire human system, there is a clear need for the mainstream medical community, policy makers, and the public to be educated about this reality as shown in recent research.
That’s why the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology—the IAOMT– brings you our integrative health podcast Word of Mouth. The IAOMT strives for safer dentistry and a healthier world.
